Captain's action gets SWA Recognition Award from Chevron Indonesia Co.
Consistent to upholding quality safety standards, one of our crew members, Captain Lukman of Crewboat Mandar exemplified good decision making by implementing the SWA (Stop Work Authority) of Baruna’s SMM and ISM Code becomes Baruna’s QHSE Policy, and ISM Code last December 5, 2015 while operating a boat at Yakin Oilfield.
The total passenger count was at 75 people but the maximum capacity was just 70 heads. Despite having an unregistered personnel suggesting to keep operations while exceeding the capacity, the captain exercised his Authority to stop work when a potential hazard is identified.
Baruna crew and personnel undergo regular safety training echoing the Baruna Raya Logistics Safety Management Manual and the International Safety Management Code of IMO. They are ensured to be well-versed on the guidelines provided for by these manuals and that these standards are upheld whenever the crew are out operating vessels in the field.
